The Brief

"We are launching some seasonal mugs in China, and we want some Chinese New Year-related designs; it could also be linked to the Year of Rooster. Please go as wild and crazy as you can."

The Concept

To announce the arrival of the year of the rooster, this mug was designed to look like the scene from Godzilla when it entered the city. There's also a slight pun in the Chinese names of "Gu Si La" (Godzilla) and "Gong Ji La" (Rooster ending with a la as slang).
